Dr. Stephan Tait is a part-time Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Agricultural Engineering at the University of Southern Queensland, with 15+ years post-PhD professional experience. Stephan is a chartered chemical process engineer and a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ). His career to date has emphasised waste resource recovery technology and practice development in agricultural industries, and environmental engineering to reduce resource use intensity and produce valorisation by-products from waste. He has a strong understanding of abatement strategies for fugitive greenhouse gas emissions from waste treatment systems, and has had direct influence on carbon credit legislation in Australia. His career to date has uniquely and consistently balanced industry engagement with academic and science-engineering research, enabling the rapid adoption of his research for the benefit of industry.
