Biography

Dr. Bikram Banerjee is a Senior Lecturer with a specialization in Remote Sensing and GIS. His expertise lies in integrating sensing technologies with UAVs, augmented by Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques. He has developed and patented prototype hardware and sensor technologies, along with accompanying software solutions. His work has led to impactful innovations across multiple sectors, including mining, agriculture, environmental and civil engineering, as well as the built environment. Dr. Banerjee has a strong track record of publishing in reputable journals and conferences and has been invited to speak at various academic, industrial, and governmental forums. Additionally, he co-supervises a diverse array of PhD research projects covering UAV-based sensing (hyperspectral, LiDAR and thermal), underground mobile laser scanning, image-based automated material characterization, mine automation, agriculture, and environment research.
