I am a biological psychologist who specializes in exploring the connections between light and behaviour. My focus is on understanding how light is sensed and interpreted by the human brain for both conscious (image-forming) and unconscious (non-image-forming) functions, with specific expertise in applied lighting, biomarker development, cognition, colour vision, circadian rhythms, and sleep. Drawing from these diverse fields, I investigate how lighting directly and indirectly impacts human behaviour, health, and wellbeing using psychophysical, physiologic and modelling tools. Studying these processes will shed light on how dysfunctions in light sensing contribute to diseases and mental disorders. My ultimate aim is to develop light environments that enhance wellness in the home, workplace, and community.
I work with PSY3080/PSY3090 (capstone), Honours, Masters and PhD students on an on-going basis. Please send me an email if interested!
