Desmond Junjie Zhang obtained BSc, MEng and PhD in Geomatics Engineering from University of Melbourne in 2017, 2019 and 2023, respectively. His research interests include multi-sensor positioning and mapping, GNSS positioning, Lidar mapping, UAV/RPA/Drone photogrammetry and sensing, Digital Twin, smart cities and precision agriculture. He has published in high-ranking journals and conferences such as GPS Solutions and ION GNSS+. He is the recipient of the Student Paper Award at ION GNSS+ 2022. Before joining University of Southern Queensland as a Lecturer in Surveying, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Melbourne and made significant contributions to several industry and government collaborated projects on sensor fusion, mobile mapping, urban Digital Twin, drone photogrammetry and agricultural sensing and mapping.
