Dr Eric Ng is an Associate Professor of Marketing within the School of Business at the University of Southern Queensland. He holds a doctoral degree in Marketing from the University of Southern Queensland and an MBA in International Business from Queensland University of Technology. With a diverse professional background spanning roles as a business consultant, marketing manager, business planner, and market researcher across Asia and Australia, Eric brings a distinctly well-rounded perspective to his academic pursuits. His affiliation as a Fellow (FAMI) and a Certified Practising Marketer (CPM) with the Australian Marketing Institute underlines his dedication to remaining at the forefront of industry trends and developments.
Eric’s passion for research is evident in his specialisation in agribusiness and environmental sustainability. Collaborating closely with industry professionals, he has led and contributed to numerous significant projects, including initiatives with the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC), Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF), Advance Queensland Innovation Partnerships (AQIP), and Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), among others. He has successfully secured over $900,000 in industry collaborative research funding as part of a research team within the area of agribusiness.
Eric’s research focuses on several vital aspects, including B2B marketing, supply and value chains, international marketing, and environmental behaviour, particularly within the agribusiness and sustainability context. He has published extensively in scholarly journals, conference proceedings and industry reports, and his research has appeared in leading journals such as the Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, Journal of Business-to-Business Marketing, Sustainability, BMC Psychology, and PeerJ, contributing to his current hg-index of 24.
Eric is committed to nurturing the next generation of researchers. He has mentored numerous postgraduate research students, guiding them towards successful completion and impactful contributions to their industries. He teaches in both undergraduate and postgraduate marketing and management courses. Eric has also held many leadership roles, including Program Director, School Academic Coordinator, Head of Marketing Discipline, Acting Deputy Head of School, and Acting Associate Dean (Students).
Eric takes pride in witnessing his students excel in their undergraduate and higher degree research studies and making tangible industry advancements through research. His holistic approach to academia, industry collaboration, and leadership underscores his commitment to driving positive change in marketing and beyond.
