Geraldine is a lecturer (Clinical Education) and BNSG Third Year Coordinator in the School of Nursing and Midwifery (Toowoomba Campus). She holds a Masters in Nursing, Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Professional Practice: Children's Nursing and a Registered General Nurse qualification. Geraldine has a nursing career that spans over 30 years of nursing experience in Paediatric and Child Health Nursing which she obtained through various clinical settings in Ireland, United Kingdom and Australia. Geraldine has gained extensive experience in clinical leadership and management as a nurse unit manager at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, she also completed her leadership for child health nurses studies at the Royal College of Nursing during this time. Geraldine specialised in critical care nursing and retrieval nursing when she arrived in Australia. She has experience in research as a research assistant for numerous paediatric research projects nationally and internationally. Geraldine has been involved in the education of nurses for many years and became involved in Tertiary education several years ago. She is a member of the Darling Downs Health Innovation and Research Collaboration (DDHIRC) and Children's Inpatient Research Collaboration of Australia and New Zealand (CIRCAN). She enjoys sharing her enthusiasm and passion for nursing with undergraduate student nurses, she is commitment to improving quality nursing care through evidence based practice.
