Jackie Lea is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba. Jackie is a Registered Nurse who teaches across a broad range of nursing subjects in the pre-registration nursing program, including areas of clinical practice, clinical education, evidence based practice and research training and quality and safety in health care.
Jackie is an experienced researcher with expertise in qualitative and mixed methods research design and implementation. Jackie has a research profile in rural health workforce issues and research focused within the Australian rural health environment.
Jackie research interests include the transition process from student to beginning level clinician, clinical education and workplace learning in health, quality and safety in healthcare. Jackie is also a supervisor for several PhD and Masters HDR students.
