James is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The University of Southern Queensland, and is completing his PhD in the School of Public Health at The University of Queensland. James’ work focuses on using mixed-methodologies and community-based participatory research to address the needs of priority groups in the context of mental, sexual, and physical health. James has a particular focus on the design, evaluation, and implementation of health interventions and improving health services. Much of James’ work focuses on the experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals, most recently including the evaluation of a psychosocial support service for people with Innate Variations of Sex Characteristics, designing a model of care with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTQ+ Brotherboy Sistergirl communities, and co-design of a digital mental health program.
