Dr Jeremy Patrick is a Senior Lecturer in the University of Southern Queensland School of Law and Justice, where he developed and teaches a core course on alternative approaches to legal scholarship. Jeremy has studied and taught law in the United States, Canada, and Australia. His scholarship draws upon legal history, comparative law, and legal realism, and is primarily in the areas of constitutional law and law and religion. His monographs and edited collections include Beyond Doctrine: Alternative and Critical Approaches to Law (Federation Press, 2025), The Impact of Law’s History: What’s Past is Prologue (Palgrave MacMillan, 2022), Faith or Fraud? Fortune-telling, Spirituality, and the Law (UBC Press, 2020), and Constitutional Recognition of First Peoples in Australia: Theories and Comparative Perspectives (Federation Press, 2016). He is a founding co-editor of the Australian Journal of Law and Religion.
