Dr Jessica Levick is an occupational therapist who has been working in the area of mental health for the past 10 years. Jessica completed her undergraduate degree in Occupational Therapy (2013) and Bachelor of Science (Honours) (2016) at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC). Whilst working as a mental health clinician, Jessica saw a need to explore consumer engagement in leisure activity on mental health inpatient units. She completed a Doctor of Philosophy in 2022 at the University of Southern Queensland and has continued her work with Metro South Mental Health and Addiction Services. She continues to collaborate with the health service and research acute mental health environments. Her research includes stakeholder perspectives focused on leisure time use within acute mental health settings. reviews of policy, evaluation of leisure time-use and recommendations for quality improvement.

Throughout her career as an occupational therapist she has worked in Queensland Health in the field of mental health with consumers who experience severe and complex mental health issues. Jessica has worked in a variety of clinical settings including community case management, intensive community outreach, emergency, acute, inpatient care, and as Co-Responder with the Queensland Police Service. For the past 7 years, Jessica has primarily worked at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in the Emergency Department as a mental health clinician.

Jessica has worked as a academic casually from 2013 and obtained a permanent role in 2020 at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Jessica came to UniSQ in 2022 and has been working to develop the new occupational therapy program.
