I am a Professor of Aviation at the School of Business, serving as the Discipline Lead for Aviation. I hold a PhD in Aviation Management from Massey University (2013) and previously worked at the University of South Australia. I also bring over five years of professional experience in the aviation industry.
My research spans aviation, tourism, and economics, with 65 peer-reviewed journal articles and 5 book chapters published. My work appears in leading journals such as Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, Annals of Tourism Research, Transportation Research Part A, Urban Studies, and Regional Studies—all ranked Q1, A* on the ABDC list, and included in Shanghai 219 or FT50. One of my solo-authored papers was published in Tourism Management (A*).
I received the Early Career Research Award (2015) and the College Research Award (Supervisor) (2022) from Massey University. I have led four research projects as Principal Investigator and provided advisory services to government and airport stakeholders.
I serve as Editor for Case Studies on Transport Policy, Guest Editor for Current Issues in Tourism and Research in Transportation Business & Management, and sit on the Editorial Board of Journal of International Logistics and Trade. I regularly review for international journals and have been interviewed by media outlets on aviation issues.
My research applies methodologies to address contemporary challenges in air transport policy, airport operations, and tourism development. I actively supervise PhD and Master’s students and am committed to expanding research capacity in aviation-related fields.
