I am a Professor of Aviation in the School of Business and serve as Discipline Lead for Aviation. I hold a PhD in Aviation Management from Massey University (2013) and bring over five years of professional experience in the aviation industry, along with prior academic roles at the University of South Australia.

My research spans aviation, tourism, and economics, with 70 peer-reviewed journal articles and five book chapters published in leading journals such as Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Transportation Research Part A, Urban Studies, Regional Studies, Transport Policy, and Journal of Cleaner Production —all ranked Q1 and A*/A on the ABDC list and featured in Shanghai 219 or FT50.

I have received the Early Career Research Award (2015) and the College Research Award for Supervision (2022) from Massey University. I have led four research projects as Principal Investigator and advised government and airport stakeholders. My supervision record includes five PhD completions and over ten Master’s students, as well as hosting scholars through the China Scholarship Council and the Cotutelle Scholarship.

I am Editor for Case Studies Transport Policy, Handling Editor for Transport Research Record, Guest Editor for Issues in Tourism and Research in Transportation Business & Management, and Editorial Board member for Journal of International Logistics and Trade. My research focuses on air transport policy, airport operations, tourism, and mentoring HDR students.

I'm keen to explore the dynamics of the air transport industry and the tourism sector within the Asia-Pacific region. My areas of focus include the regulatory environments of air transport, current and future tourism trends and their interaction with the air transport industry, the management and operations of airlines and airports, and the future development of aviation in various regions.
