Biography

Karen Glasby is an Inclusive and Special Education Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ). Prior to this, Karen has extensive experience as a special and inclusive education teacher with a focus on supporting students with disability across a diverse range of educational settings. Her research interests are located within the broad field of inclusive and special education, particularly in supporting both students on the autism spectrum and supporting students exhibiting serious challenging behaviour. She is a passionate advocate for the role of education in preparing all young people for positive life outcomes. Karen’s doctoral research is titled ‘Self-determination for the rest of my life: Young autistic adult’s insights into the interaction between Queensland secondary school transition practices and post-school quality of life’.
