Professor East is a nurse leader, experienced academic and has held multiple positions throughout university and community sectors. She has an established research portfolio focused on vulnerable populations and nursing practice within the context of wellbeing and primary health care, has successfully secured multiple forms of research funding and has multiple peer-reviewed publications. Throughout her career, Leah has held multiple academic roles and leadership positions spanning from editorial journal positions, being on community governance boards, representing nursing at government level and successfully leading and developing multiple educational initiatives.
