Dr. Nadeesha Kalyani is an academic, researcher, and clinician, and an AHPRA-registered physiotherapist with a specialization in Neurological Physiotherapy.

With over a decade of teaching experience both locally and internationally, Dr. Kalyani has made significant contributions to undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy education. Her academic journey is highlighted by the completion of a Ph.D. in Neurological Physiotherapy from Queensland University of Technology, reflecting her commitment to advancing innovative, evidence-based approaches to improve the quality of life for individuals with neurological conditions.

Dr. Kalyani brings a wealth of international teaching experience and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE), recognised through the QUT Academy of Learning and Teaching. She is also a SEDA-qualified academic, with demonstrated expertise in teaching and curriculum design. In addition to her academic roles, she has extensive clinical experience in neurological rehabilitation settings.

Her research interests span Neurological and Gerontological Physiotherapy, Biomechanics, Fall Prevention, and Balance Training. Clinically, she has worked with individuals affected by Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and spinal cord injuries, which has inspired her research agenda focused on enhancing mobility, independence, and quality of life for people with complex neurological conditions.
