Natasha Heap has been involved in the aviation industry for over 20 years. After receiving her commercial pilot licence in 1998 at the Royal Newcastle Aero Club she has worked as a flight instructor, charter pilot, search and rescue pilot and a Training Captain for QantasLink – Australia’s largest regional airline. Natasha has always had a passion for teaching, holding both a flight instructor rating and a Certificate VI in Training and Assessment. She has taught throughout her career – both in the aircraft and on the ground, in particular being involved in the QantasLink Training Department delivering and writing such courses as Crew Resource Management, Emergency Procedures, both initial and recurrent, in accordance with CAO 20.11, and Dangerous Goods Awareness. Natasha brings a wealth of industry experience and is driven to connect the theoretical approaches to a practical application in the industry. Natasha’s research interests are multidisciplinary. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Ancient History from Macquarie University and a Master of Philosophy in Biological Anthropology and Bioarchaeology at James Cook University. Her research focus is on historic aviation, aviation archaeology, biological anthropology, dental anthropology, paleopathology, and medical history.
