Biography

Dr Priya Martin is a multi-award-winning clinician-educator-researcher, and a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators (ANZAHPE). She is currently the Discipline Lead and Program Director of the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) Program, and an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Queensland. Her career spans over 23 years of experience in clinical, academic, project, leadership, and research roles in Australia and overseas. She completed a multi-award PhD through the University of South Australia (2018), followed by a funded Advance Queensland Industry Research Postdoctoral Fellowship (2020-22). She is internationally renowned for her research in health professions education, healthcare workforce, health systems and services, and rural health. Further, she is a methodologist for mixed and qualitative research methods and an evidence synthesis specialist. Her academic, professional, and research track record includes 23 awards and prizes, almost 100 peer-reviewed papers, and Chief Investigator grant funding of over $8M, including three current MRFFs. Most notably, she was named one of top 10 Young Scientists in Queensland (Fresh Science), and one of top 10 Young Leaders in the Queensland Public Service (IPAA), in 2018. She is the 4th leading Australian expert in interprofessional education research and 6th leading Australian expert in clinical supervision research (Expertscape, Jan 24).
