Rifat Islam is a member of the Australian Computer Society and works as a Peer Facilitator for the English Language Lounge at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ). In addition to this staff role, he is a first-year student at UniSQ pursuing a Bachelor of Information Technology, with a major in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. This current academic path builds upon his prior foundation from the university, where he completed an Associate Degree in Business and Commerce specialising in Leadership and Management between 2020 and 2022.

Throughout his time at UniSQ, Rifat has maintained an active presence in the campus community, contributing his time and skills to the USQ Football Club in 2020, serving on the USQ Student Representative Committee from 2020 to 2021, and participating in the USQ Bangladeshi Student Association in 2022.

Beyond his studies and staff responsibilities, Rifat acts as a dedicated community mentor who is deeply passionate about fostering student employability. In this mentorship capacity, he actively supports his peers by providing expert guidance on resume construction, cover letter tailoring, interview preparation, and effective job application strategies.
