Biography

Sally Hourigan is a Lecturer (Humanities) for the School of Humanities and Communication. Sally is Editorial Manager for the journal Discourse: Studies in the Cultural Politics of Education and co-coordinator of the Genders & Sexualities Group for the Australian Sociological Association.

Sally maintains two research streams. The first focuses on gendered objects and the ways these impact the lived experience and our social experiences. This research includes formally organised interest groups and extends to museums including visitor studies and curation. Sally's second research stream focuses on community development within the local government context.
