Biography

Dr Thanh Mai holds a PhD in Natural Resource Management from the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, an MSc in Regional and Rural Development Planning from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand, and a BSc in Forest Science from the Vietnam National University of Forestry. He has over 10 years of university teaching experience and 25 years of research expertise. As a systems scientist, Dr. Thanh’s research is highly interdisciplinary, encompassing a wide range of disciplines and themes. In recent years, his work has primarily focused on agricultural climate risk management to enhance the resilience of farming systems and regional communities. Dr. Thanh has been involved in numerous R&D projects in various capacities, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, research institutions, the private sector, and local communities. His work has spanned multiple countries, including Australia, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and India.
