Dr Zhi Chen is a Lecturer at the School of Science, Engineering and Digital Technologies, The University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), Australia. Previously, he worked as an Associate Lecturer and Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of EECS, The University of Queensland (UQ) from August 2022 to January 2025. From January 2025 to April 2025, he worked as a research fellow in UQ Centre for Clinical Research (UQ-CCR). Dr Chen obtained his PhD degree in 2023 from UQ.

His research centers around developing generalizable and applicable ML/AI approaches. For fundamental research, he mainly explores the field of computer vision, particularly in zero-shot learning. For applied AI, Dr Chen mainly conducts interdisciplinary research on AI for Agriculture and AI for Healthcare.
