Professor Clint Moloney is considered a leading expert on COPD and led vital research in the Reduction of Avoidable Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease emergency presentations. This research: 1. investigated a potential over-use of emergency services and 2. discovered gaps in outreach services devoted to the support of this lifelong disease. Research was undertaken in collaboration with three non-metropolitan health services in Southeast Queensland. Outcomes have informed referral treatment initiatives’ including advocation for the use of Case Manager roles to assist patients with effective self-management. Professor Moloney and Colleagues have published a series of articles on the findings of this project which be sourced @ https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2520-1506
