Ellen Larsen is an Associate Professor (Curriculum and Pedagogy) at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ). Ellen works with preservice teachers in undergraduate and postgraduate initial teacher education programs. She also works with in-service educators in their post-graduate education studies, with a particular focus on developing coaching and mentoring capabilities. Ellen is an active supervisor of higher degree research students. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an accredited HEA mentor and reviewer. Ellen served on the Australian Teacher Education Association (ATEA) Executive 2020-2021 and on the Australian Association of Research in Education (AARE) Executive 2022-2023. She was also convenor of the national Teachers' Work and Lives Special Interest Group (2022-2024). She is an Associate Editor for the Australian Educational Researcher journal (2024-current). As a researcher, Ellen is committed to understanding the work lives of contemporary educators across diverse contexts and career stages and supporting their professional experiences, with a particular focus on professional learning and mentoring. She leads national and international projects to develop high-quality and impactful mentoring programs in educational settings.
